This is another bladdy racist entry. Just realised that there is a bunch of Malays staying in the same block as me. I could recognise a few of them from the second year class...bladdy MARA scholars. Last night, i saw them carrying a drum set up to thier house. Government pay them so freaking much money to come over here just for them to bladdy buy a drumset!!! And IPOD. Wahlau....come here not to study but to buy all these stuff.....wut the heck man. Dont know how to value money. Only know how to take gov money and spend. To make things worse, they are not studying hard. Bladdy spoilt malay idiots.The thought that these are they ppl that will be big corporate leaders in Msia in the future is so scary. Another few government companies, just waiting to be destroyed by these malays. SIA making tons of money, MAS making losses despite an increase in revenue.....idiots....\m/

As i was searching through wikipedia for an article on Mahathir, i found this article on the Malays. In the Malaysian constitution, there is a definition of what is a "Malay". A Malay is a malay if and only if the person is a Muslim. If the Malay(race) converts out of Islam, the person is no longer considered legally a "Malay" and loses all his special rights. If a non-Malay(race) embraces Islam, that person can be considered a Malay if that person is a fulfills the other aspects of "Malayness" ie speaks Malay fluently and lives like a malay and that person is entitled to that special rights. No wonder alot of Malaysian businessmen convert to Islam....idiots. Sell thier soul to Malays just for that.... \m/

Forgotten child hero remembered:
Was reading this article this morning. This malay guy is the first receipient of the Hang Tuah medal for bravery 40 years ago. Today, he complains ppl has forgotten him and noone gives him the proper respect as the countries first child hero!!!! This guy expects ppl to remember him all his life because of something he did 40 years ago!!! Idiot...If the person he once saved had forgotten about him, i would say that person is an ungrateful idiot, but this guy expects the whole world to recognise him. The gov wants to support him financially too...\m/

SPM is out!!!!

Finally SPM results is out. Everyone is excited... students, parents, friends, grandparents, etc etc. So here are some of my thoughts on the articles posted on www.thestar.com.my on the SPM exams.

1) Near 50% rise in all 1As students
Every year there will be a rise in straight A's students. When i was in school the max As that ppl got was 10. When my father was is school, it was 7 and only geniuses got straight As. Today, you got ppl with 15As. The country is proud. Our students are getting smarter and more hardworking...so they claim. Every year the marking standard is lowered...Of course u get more staright A's. Idiots just wanna make themselves Happy...\m/

2) Malay tops at Chinese school
You got 1 malay fella that tops at Chinese school and he gets into the newspaper as if its such a bladdy great achievement. What about the thousands of Chinese that tops at Malay schools around the country. Why dont they get into the papers? I guess its because the words Malay and Chinese is in the wrong position...if u get what i mean.

Since i have nothing to do now....

five of my favourite memories as a child:
1) First day in primary school....
2) Falling asleep in school nearly everyday
3) Practicing guitar until 3-4 am every weekend
4) Being able to play a song on the guitar for the first time...should be around 12 yo
5) Coming top in class in year 6....the decline in performance after that coincided with the discovery of the guitar.

five of my worst memories as a child:
1) Get scolded and embarassed in front of everyone at every prefect meeting because i sweat alot..Apparently sweating alot implies playing alot.....\m/
2) Fainting quite often in school because of epilepsy...its not really a bad memory because i dont remember much of it....all i remember is waking up at home which is really good.
3) Getting 3 A's and 1 B for my UPSR. I was really devastated that time. because i wanted to go to some prestigious school. But looking at the ppl that went to those schools now, thank God i didnt go to those schools.
4) Breaking a few guitar strings in a youth rally while playing...
5) Being forced to go dancing for a Christmas event in church......how i hate dancing

Just found out today my cousin in the UK got a place to do her Phd in Imperial College in London. Feel so proud. At least there is 1 person in my family that will be called doctor. Pray hard that she will get a scholarship from someone......

After being in KL for a while, its scary to see all the "young babies " all grown up. Last sunday in church, there was a youth ministry meeting. I dont know how to descibe this feeling, but i felt "something" when i saw the ppl that went to the meeting were the ppl that to me were still kids in my mind. Just 2 years ago when i last saw them, they were still running in church playing catching. Now they have become youths and a new batch of kids are running around playing cathing...and i dont know any of them ( i dont even know whos kids are those). The young kids are now entering the most confusing period of thier life....thier teens.
This year many ppl will be going to Australia to study too. I have got at least 4 friends going to different cities to study. Suddenly everyone is coming to Australia and they are so happy...Freedom!!! hmmm....

Dream Theater Concert!!!!

OK....i am back in KL. Although KL doesnt make me excited at all, it does feel really good to just come back for CNY. Visiting my relatives and eating my grandmothers vegetarian dish. After this year who knows when i will be able to eat it again.
Alright...now that i got those sentimental stuff out of my system, let me go to the real thing.

Dream Theater Concert is...\m/\m/\m/\m/\m/...damn good. Its like a dream come through. A congregation of Dream Theater fans, from the very young( younger than 10) to the very old(older than 40) assembled at 7.30 to get into the concert hall. Its real exciting to see all these ppl, most of them in black heavy metal t-shirts (we also saw the pretty girl from Davis guitar shop...:-P). We got into the concert hall at 8pm. It was really exciting to be finally able to meet them in person. Unfortunately because of technical difficulties, the concert was delayed by about an hour(we started at 9). At 9, the lights went off. All we could see was the stage lights. The concert was starting. Everyone rushed towards the stage. Obviously not all of us could get to the stage because of the bariers. All we could do was to try to get as close as possible to the stage. Well, for me and Clarence, we managed to go to the seats that cost SGD120+. We only payed SGD 62. Because of all the chaos, we managed to get to the more expensive seats....:-)

The concert was real inspiring. The techniques, the music....and ... ohhh.....the adrenaline rush. They played most of thier famous songs from their first album to the latest album. Every song, a technical masterpieces. Famous Metallica and Liquid Tension experiment riffs were incorporated into thier solos. Problems did exist during the concert. James Labrie was heard cursing the F-word because of some technical problems, yet the band remained cool and continued to play. John Myungs bassing is amazing....simply amazing. I take pride in using the same pick-up brand and bass guitar brand as him( yes...i am a real loser...:-P).

The concert finally came to an end at 12. My last day in Singapore....

1) Malaysia - Home sweet home. A place where i can sleep late, wake up late, not worry abt my food, lodging, laundry, play bass the whole day, walk aimlessly ard the city, etc etc

2) Australia(Sydney) - Home sweet home 2. A place i can sleep late, wake up late,walk aimlessly ard the city. Ranked lower than KL simply because i have to worry about food, lodging and laundry.

3) Singapore - Can get cheap guitar accesories

4) Japan - Can get a huge variety of good and relatively good guitars

5) US - Can get very good American made guitars for a relatively cheaper price.

OK....my two days in KL is coming to an end. Tomorrow morning i will be heading off back to Singapore. Frankly speaking i am quite looking forward to it. Its not that i do not like KL, but its just good to be not in KL.
These two days have been good. I went to my church Christmas service. Managed to meet alot of my old church friends and relatives too. Its good to see them again. But the conversation topics have now changed. No more guitars or basses but on career, life, family, etc etc. I guess we are all growing up. Speaking of growing up, its good to see the young kids in church are now older kids....haha.
The best part of coming back is, i managed to watch Thundercats on TV....haha. So cool man. I remember when i was a kid, i always wanted to watch Thundercats but my father will always scold me because thundercats has demonic images. But today, i watched it in front of him and he nvr say anything...hahah. It feels good.. :-)
There is so much more wonderful stuff to say, but its getting late and tomorrow i am leaving in the morning. In conclusion, KL trip was good.....\m/.

My Power PLant

2nd week in the power plant is over. I've got 2 more weeks in Jurong Island and after that i will be working in Hq in Harbour Front. Cant wait to go to Hq. The power plant is a tough place. Its a place that requires alot of physical strength and brains. If i stay here for too long, i might become physically very fit and i might want to do a Phd next time... :-). I have been here for only 2 weeks and i think i really need to do a masters if i would want to go into this field. Most of the senior engineers here have a masters. Thier advice is come out to work for 2 years and then do a masters...hmm....should i follow thier advice?
Well this week has been a real boring week at work. This week i am attached to the orimulsion power plant. Its boring because i have no interest in the power plant. It involves too much mechanical engineering. So many things i dont understand....pressure here, pressure there, temperature here, temperature there...etc etc. I prefer current and voltages. At least these are more familiar units to me. Alot of my colleagues are taking thier annual leave now too. So there is very little ppl in the office and very little projects on. So here i am sitting in front of my laptop and blogging.
After working for 2 weeks, i think working life is pretty boring. Everyday we do the same thing, look at the same schematics and analyze the same things. After a few years of working, any engineer can be an expert in that particular system. You dont need a Phd to be an expert. In fact, a professor might not even understand the system as well the practising engineer. But i can understand why some ppl choose to do a Phd now. My lab tutor who is doing his phd decided to do a Phd because she couldnt take working life. I guess its because its too boring. If they paid phd students more than what they pay engineers in the industry, i definitely would want to go into postgrad research. Unfortunately i prefer to be paid more money and be bored than paid less money and discover new things.
Ok....gtg get soemthing done...later have to go ocf chritmas party. As fun as that might sound, i might fall asleep there becoz i might be too tired. Working sucks, but i better get used to it because thats what i am going to do for at least 35 years of my life...\m/

Singapore

Ok....Finally i am online. Since coming to singapore, i am unable to go online because Raj's hse got no internet and got no internet in the power plant. I feel disconnected from the rest of the world. I havent been in contact with anyone....*sad. Anyway the first week of work is over. I really wouldnt consider it work cause i know nothing abt the power plant to work. So i am just trying to learn as much as possible abt the power plant. The ppl there are very friendly. I get to learn much from all of them. The best thing is, i get paid to learn all these stuff, unlike uni where i pay so much to learn so little. But, as my supervisor says, uni education doesnt really prepare u for the real work. It only trains us on how we think. So uni education is not all that useless.
Working in the power plant is a great experience which many of my other engineering friends can only dream about. Thank God for the "lubang"... hahaha. Electrical engineering is only a small part of it. There is so much more to the power plant than the electrical engineers. Mixing around with the malays is a great experience too. There are so many malays in the power plant, and they are so friendly, unlike the msian malays....
There is so much more to write, but the cost of going to this internet cafe is also alot. So i got to go now.
I beg all of you...when u read this and u are in singapore, PLS GIVE ME A CALL AT 91236931. Life in Singapore is so boring. ARGHHHHHHHHHH

Finally after 2 years, I am back in KL. Back a very familiar building(ie my house), neighbourhood, and eating shops. It felt really good when the aunty in one of my regular eating shops came up to me and said in cantonese "Wei, come back already". Its not that i know her really well(maybe relatively well, since i always go to her shop since i was a small kid). But personally, everything seems too familiar and it feels as if i never left for sydney at all. If it wasnt because of this post, i wouldnt have thought of Sydney at all. When i reached home, i just walked into the hse and switched on the lights and sat where i always sit without even thinking. Now I am sitting down in front of my laptop in the same position where i always sat since form 4, listening to the same album i was listening when i was studying for my SPM(O levels)...etc etc. Now that i am back in KL, i dont even care about Sydney... is this behaviour good or bad? Hmm, i guess it can be good at some times and bad at some times.
My room hasnt changed much too. The calender i put in my room in the year 2002 is still there. my Doraemon comics is still there, and the Christmas gifts my friends gave me before i left for Sydney is still there. Scary thought....i can leave for 2 years and come back without feeling anything. And once again i opened up my closet door and stood in front of the mirror. I took out my bass and hung it over my shoulder. Looking at myself in the mirror brought back memories of the time when i used to practice bass/guitar in front of the mirror, looking at my fingers, how they move, note transitions, plucking...etc etc.
I must admit that I have been eating alot since i came back. Can feel the fats building up again. But its alright...can lose it all when i get back to sydney. Ohh...before i forget, my grandmother converted the garden in my hse to a vegetable farm which is quite cool. The mango tree in front of my hse is bigger now too. Those are a few significant changes to my hse.
The first place i went after i left the plane was the music shop. I was specifcally loooking for a Metallica cd to check out the prices. Suprisingly one Metallica's Ride the lightning cost RM 50. So expensive!!!!! Opeth's Ghost Reveries cost RM60 too. I find it hard to believe that Heavy/Death Metal cds are so expensive here. A few years ago when i was still in secondry school, the whole Black metal culture came into the open because some malay idiots worshiped those black metal bands so much to the extend of burning bibles and qurans. Today in the newspaper, some ppl are trying to organise a concert for the Norwegian Black metal band, Mayhem. I listened to one of thier songs before and dont really like them because of thier high frequency screams. I prefer the grunts. Anyway, thier concert will not be approved by the government. But there will be a concert in singapore. I dont know how could those idiotic organisers think that the government would approve of such a band. When linkin park came here to do a concert 2 years ago, i was quite surprised although linkin park's type of metal is quite soft. I guess the government is loosening up, but Black metal is too extreme to be considered.
The weather here is weird. So hot, so humid and to make things worse it has been raining everyday. I cant help it but walk around the hse and sleep topless.
I spent a whole lot of time with my grandmother cause she is also sitting at home doing nothing. On thrusday we went to Kl city to walk around and eat. We also spent a lot of time talking. Its interesting to hear all the old stories from here era like her struggles as a chinese migrant to Malaysia, her life principles...etc etc. Can really learn alot from her. I was also able to communicate with her quite smoothly in cantonese....hahaha. I am quite proud of myself. My canto improved.
Ok....gtg do some shopping before i leave for singapore on saturday. Going to meet Lih Rui too. How exciting is that.....\m/

IT has truely been a great weekend of doing nothing, eating and having fun....Its been a while since i had a wonderful weekend with the sydney ppl. The adrenaline rush from the jamming session in Clarences hse is awesome. Its been so long since the "Sydney convention band" had jammed together....to make things even better, we got to jam the songs that we want to ....namely metal (couldnt really do that in convention.. :-P). Cant wait to do that again in singapore...\m/....Now i can study.....and i gained some weight too...\m/

Realities of life

In a few more weeks, 3rd year uni will be over. 4th Year will be here. Then my basic formal education will be over. Then will come work. Will I be able to fit into the working world? Can i establish myself in this country? Do i want to be an engineer all my life? Can i be successful in this world? All these questions....so depressing....so hard to answer because i simply do not know the future. But one thing if for certain....God holds my future and whatever may come, i trust in HIM...amen

What is life?

When we were babies, life is just sleeping,crying,eating. When we start schooling, life is about sleeping,occasional crying,our education and friends. When we work life,is about sleeping(maybe less compared to before),occasional crying,education(we have to continue learning all our lives),friends and work. This list continues as we enter different phases of our lives ie family, retirement etc etc.
This few weeks,i got an opportunity to meet a few working ppl(through badminton club).There was this guy who was now working in the marketing sector.He used to work in Msia as a Network engineer in Technology Park Malaysia.When i heard that the first thing that came to my mind was..."wow,successful man". I didnt say what i was thinking but his next sentence revealed that he doesnt concur with what i thought.He said,"When u come out and get a job, a job is just a job. We do it because we need to survive in this world. Its not life. In uni, everyone studies and studies to do well and hope that they will get a good job, but when we start working,work will just be another routine." I am not really sure whether he is a Christian or not but i believe there is some truth in what he said(unless of course u like research and u do that for the rest of your life). Working is not life. And am quite confident that the other things listed is not life either.
I guess the main problem with ppl is the fact that we are proud beings.We always tend to take pride in ourselves,our achievements,our work,our possesions, etc etc.This might be able to give us temporary satisfaction in our lives, but not a permanent one.

Pro 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with the humble is wisdom.
Pro 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
Deu 6:1 "Now this is the commandment, the statutes and the rules that the
LORD your God commanded me to teach you, that you may do them in
the land to which you are going over, to possess it,
Deu 6:2 that you may fear the LORD your God, you and your son and your
son's son, by keeping all his statutes and his commandments,
which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your
days may be long.

In the deuteronomy verses, Moses was giving his final address to the ppl of Israel before they entered the promised land. Notice the Fear of the Lord is to keep His statutes and comandments.Looking at this 3 verses, what can be drawn out of it? With humility comes wisdom, but wisdom is the fear of the Lord and the Fear of the Lord is to obey HIM and by doing so our days/life may be long. So now lets ask ourselves, why would God promise us a longer life if we obey his commandments? Lets face the fact that, we wouldnt like to live a life forever under someones command(in a humanly sense). So i guess the reason why God promises a longer life if we obey his commandments is simply because, through total obedience to God,He gives us LIFE, a life that is worth living, a life which sole purpose is to glorify God.I guess this fact should be further strengthtened simply by the fact that Jesus has already died for our sins . Through Jesus we already have hope. It is up to us whether we decide to run back to that hope.I think it would be very foolish of God to send his Son down to save us only for us to find that life is still empty and hopeless.
Well....God is no fool. So let us not be foolish, but instead humbly run back to the cross and realise that our hope is in the LORD, and it is only through HIM we can find an everlasting purpose in everything we do be it our studies,work,friends etc etc .

And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and
gave himself for me.

And let us also find encouragement from the fact that we are no longer living for ourselves, but for Christ. As Paul wrote in Romans...

Went to my aunts house last night. What a suprise i got when i heard my cousins voice. The high pitched voice was now lower and more manly. All of a sudden, it hit me. My cousin whom i always thought as a kid is nomore a kid. He is now 12 and will be turning 13 in dec. So i guess its about time his voice breaks. Wow...i am amazed...i know i shouldnt be amazed because i went through it myself, but i am. I guess its just facinating being able to witness someone change as they come to age. If i can be so excited over my cousin, imagine how much more excited a parent would be for his child. The same goes for ethan. When denesh first came, he was so small...so vulnerable...his eyes wasnt open yet...so innocent...just sleeping there without any worries about life. Now ethan is bigger...eyes opened...but still vulnerable, innocent and sleeps without any worries bout life. Sad to think in a few years, he will be exposed to the real world when he enters school. His mind will be polluted by "formal education", friends,etc etc.

It is undeniable that the English Premier League(EPL) is the most popular football(yes...australia is using football instead of soccer now) league in the world. In fact, it is also the richest league in the world( The EPL is richer than the spanish league,Italian league, german league and dutch league combined) with the riches clubs(ie Chealsea, Manchester United, Arsenal). It is every young footballers dream to play in the EPL. But is the EPL suitable for everyone?
Many have come and many have gone( to the EPL). Some came as nobodies and left as idols, some came as idols and left as nobodies. Now that most of the leagues are over, its interesting to note how these "EPL rejects" have performed last season, notably Crespo(Chelsea -> Inter Milan), Veron (Chelsea -> AC Milan), and Forlan(MU -> Villareal) .
During thier short stint at thier respective clubs in the EPL, these "EPL rejects" were used mainly as subs( this says alot as thier transfer fee is not cheap). Thier performance before they transfered to the EPL and after they transfered is just so different. You got a striker that scores >15 goals a season but scores <10 in the EPL. What happened? I dont know...i aint thier manager.
So these "epl rejects" gets loaned out to other clubs. At the end of the season, Crespo is the second top scorer in AC Milan with 16 goals, Veron regained his form and played a vital role in Inter Milans squad, and Diego Forlan is the top scorer in Europe. Ironic isnt it.

I will now write an article in Malay just to test whether my A2 is justified.....

"Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa". Rangkai kata yang tidak asing untuk kebanyakan rakyat Malaysia. Rangkai kata ini cukup mudah, tetapi isi yang tersirat disebalik tiga perkataan ini mampu membangkitkan sifat patriotisma yang tidak ada nilainya dikalangan rakyat Malaysia.
Sejak kebelakangan ini, Bahasa Melayu-jiwa bangsa Malaysia...semakin tercemar dengan kata-kata pinjaman daripada bahasa-bahasa asing terutamanya bahasa inggeris. Artikel-artikel dalam majalah, dan rancangan-rancangan yang disiarkan dalam televisyen tidak henti-henti menggunakan bahasa melayu yang tercemar dengan kata-kata pinjaman dari bahasa inggeris. Rangkap kata seperti "Saya cinta you" dan "I memang sayang akan you" digunakan dengan meluas oleh drama drama melayu dan penggunaannya telahpun tersebar ke setiap rakyat yang menggunakan bahasa melayu sebagai bahasa utama merreka(cuma orang melayu sahaja!!). Memang tidak dapat kita nafikan yang setiap bahasa dalam dunia ini perlu menggunakan kata-kata pinjaman untuk bahasa mereka. Sebagai contoh, di Australia, kata-kata seperti "bok choy" dan "dim sim" digunakan dengan meluas. Satu lagi contoh ialah artikel ini. Dalam dua perenggan ini sahaja, pelbagai kata pinjaman telahpun digunakan. Masalah dengan penggunaan kata pinjaman ialah, penggunaan yang berlebihan sehingga ciri-ciri bahasa melayu hilang entah kemana. Masalah penggunaan kata-kata pinjaman ini begitu meluas hingga hampir setiap perkataan inggeris yang biasa digunakan telah pun diambil sebagai kata pinjaman dalam Bahasa Melayu.
Peranan media massa dalam penyebaran penggunaan kata-kata pinjaman tidak dapat dinafikan tetapi juga tidak dapat dipersalahkan seratus peratus. Bekas Perdana Menteri Malaysia (*respect) Tun dr mahathir memperkenalkan perkataan "bajet" ketika membentangkan bajetnya yang terakhir pada tahun 2003. Peranan guru disekolah juga merupakan faktor yang besar dalam isu ini. Tidak akan saya lupa nasihat yang diberi oleh guru saya sebelum peperiksaan Bahasa Melayu SPM. Nasihatnya ialah, "Guna sebanyak mungkin kata-kata pinjaman dari bahasa inggeris dalam karangan kamu kerana kata-kata ini akan memberi pandangan positif kepada pemeriksa". Tentulah saya akan mengikut nasihat guru saya. Mungkin nasihat inilah yang telah berjaya mendapatkan saya A2 dalam matapelajaran Bahasa Melayu. Tidak ada siapa yang tahu. Apa yang diketahui ialah, kata-kata pinjaman dari bahasa inggeris kini diberi status yang lebih tinggi daripada perkataan melayu yang sah.
Penubuhan Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka lebih 20 tahun dahulu adalah dengan objektif untuk memperkaya dan mempromosi penggunaan Bahasa Melayu di kalangan rakyat Malaysia. 20 tahun lebih telah berlalu dan Bahasa Melayu kini telah tercemar dengan pelbagai kata-kata pinjaman daripada bahasa-bahasa lain. Adakah in maksud "memperkayakan" bahasa Melayu? Jika inilah maksudnya, apakah bezanya jika kita mempelajari bahasa inggeris tetapi dengan ejaan yang berlainan. Cubalah anda membaca Kamus Dewan dan anda akan memahami maksud saya.
Malaysia kini berusia 48 tahun. Ini menandakan 48 tahun bebas dari kongkongan Inggeris dan Malaysia kini merupakan salah satu negara yang paling maju di rantau Asia Tenggara. Rakyat Malaysia mampu membangunkan Malaysia sehinggakan dunia kini tahu siapa kita. Walaupun dari segi fizikal, kita telahpun bebas and berupaya membangunkan negara kita tetapi cuba fikir, adakah kita benar-benar bebas atau masih dibawah kongkongan Inggeris? Dengan dukacitanya, jawapan saya ialah tidak. "Bahasa JIWA Bangsa". Bahasa merupakan jiwa bangsa kita, tetapi sekarang Bahasa kita....Bahasa yang mendefinasikan setiap rakyat Malaysia, sedang ditakluk semula oleh Bahasa Inggeris......Fikirkanlah, dimana jiwa setiap rakyat Malaysia kini berada?....fikirkanlah...............

ps. Jika tak suka bahasa melayu berhijrahlah ke luar negara. Macam saya.....:-P

Apparently not many ppl in Malaysia are proud to be Malaysian. So the government suggested that the cinemas play the national anthem before the movie starts....and everyone has to stand up....hmmm....i wonder will that suggestion actually help people be more patriotic or will people just take it as another stupid suggestion from one of the ministers who just wants to appear on tele so ppl will think he is doing some work in his office. I think most of the ppl will take it as the latter. This brings me back to my high school days. One observation that can be made on special days (like teachers day, sports day, etc) where the lower secondry ppl and the upper secondry ppl come together is....The lower secondry ppl always seem to sing the national anthem the loudest. The upper secondry ppl tend to just stand and "stone". It became so bad until the headmistress had to go up and scold everyone and we had to re-sing the national anthem until we were loud enough (as if the amplitude of out voice signals is proportional to our patriotism). After a while it gets kinda sick listening to the headmistress and prefects telling us...."Nyanyi kuat sikit". I guess the prefects are also sick of us telling them..."Sangat awal ler, mau tidur!!!"
Hmm..."BAHASA ASING"...another stupid rule in high school. U cant speak anyother language except malay,english, and mandarin( and also mebbe tamil) in school. I mean wut the crap rule is that. Even the teachers speak cantonese in the teachers room ( i know this coz i usually there to look for my father after school), lets not also forget the prefects who speak cantonese in thier prefects room. Everytime a prefect catches us speaking a foreign language, it cost 50 cents. I am quite certain this rule is the main income bringer for the prefectorial board...hmm...talk about corruption man. They collect all the fines and keeps them for themselves ( they do not give it to the school). At the end of the year the use all the money and give themselves a treat at some big hotel....idiots.
"BAHASA KASAR"...another rule that brings in alot of money for the prefectorial board.........F***ers....opps...if i was in school i would be fined 1 ringgit already.
Now i wonder how did my thoughts divert from Malaysia to stupid school rules...

Watching the Champions league final between Liverpool and AC Milan was good. I must admit i am not a real fan of Liverpool or AC Milan but what made me want to watch it was how liverpool managed to defeat AC milan when they were already down by 3 goals. The amazing thing is they managed to do that in only 6 minutes. ITs just amazing. AC Milan dominated the game during the first half. Liverpool on the other hand was really messy. The typical scenario is....Liverpool attack, Ac Milan defend...Milan counters liverpools attack....Liverpool 's defence wasnt there...and Milan scores. After the first half Milan was so happy....as if they already won. Well the probabilty to catch up when you are 3 goals down is very low, esspecially when there is only 45 minutes left...and thats what makes it so amazing....and its a must see match.
The second half was just amazing. Liverpool were now more organised and they were attacking all the way and also defending rather well although there were some times when they were still caught off guard( credit must be given to liverpool goalkeeper for good keeping ). I guess Milan was too confident that they didnt really play with all thier heart. And just 10 minutes after the start of the second half....Liverpool scored....after 2 minutes scored again.....after 4 minutes scores again....AMAZING.....the first 2 goals were wonderful goals...the third was a penalty. After that, Milan started playing with everything they have and the game was more balanced. Both sides had chances.
In the end, it was a tie and the game was decided by penalties. Obviously Liverpool won. Liverpool might be 5th in the English Premier Lague and might not even have a chance to defend thier title next year but they are still worthy champions because they showed determination throughout the whole game and didnt give up eventhough the odds were against them. Liverpool aint a team with big "galactic" names but it just goes to show...winning requires more than jsut big names. The attitude and mentality is equally as important. I think if Milan werent so confident by the end of the first half they could have won the match. In fact over these 3 years since i have been following the Champions League, Ac Milan has been the most consistant teams. They are always up there in the group stage and in the finals of semi-finals. I guess its true when ppl say "Pride comes before a fall".....hmmmm

Another sleepy sunday...After nearly 2 months, its my turn to play bass again. Like any other bass playing day, i would have to wake up damn early just to get to church damn early to sound check etc etc. I think i played quite well today. Didnt make many obvious mistakes, except maybe for the hymn. Well obviously noone heard the mistakes i made in the hymn. The reason being....i followed one of the most important principles in "amateur musicianship" which is...."IF u cant play- POSE". Well...i nearly always do this when playing those complex hymns with 6-7 chord transitions per bar. Its just too much processing for my brain to perform. What can i say, those hymn writers are professional composers and i am a mere amateur. So just go up to the stage, pick up my bass, pretend to play with the volume knobs of my bass( infact i am merely turning it up and back down to 2). When the hymn starts, just pretend to play some notes, do some complex finger patterns...and in the end noone notices anything and ppl think you are very good because u can execute those complex finger pattern. The good thing about the bass is...when u play it ppl can hear the difference in the music, but if u dont play anything ppl dont really care...unless of course u are playing some other genres which are highly dependent on the bass(which of course is not church music).
And i managed to talk to christo today. Apparently i made quite a good impression on the guy i used to work with in the radio station during summer and he wants to work with me again. Thats good to know because the probability of me staying in sydney to do my work experience higher. So even if no engineering firm wants me because i do not have a PR, i can get an engineering apprentice job at ABC. YEAH......
And got the results of my other mid-sem today. Got 20 /25. I guess this one is alright. I was expecting it to be somewhere around 20-21. But i could have gotten higher. I guess the important thing is not to look at the mid-sem and cry over it. Maybe just cry for a few minutes...or a few hours. More importantly is to know where are the mistakes correct it.....If my father was here i would have gotten a scolding already....fortunately he aint.

Just read a very interesting article on the malaysian online newspaper. Apparently, Malaysia is suffering from "lack of male leadership" syndrome. According to the PM, more and more women are stepping up to the forefront in many fields. Hmm....DigJC conducting worship workshop in church and Matt asked a few of us to conduct some bass workshops. How exciting is that...to be asked to teach bass to a bunch of kids....hahah. The thought of me teaching a bunch of small kids bass, exciting as it may seem, there is a little fear. What if one of them is better than me??? Should i ask them to listen to more metallica, dream theater, iron maiden??? Should i open thier eyes to the world where guitar and bass rule ( MEtal world) ? What if they suddenly become satanist because they listen to too much metal??? OR maybe they have been listening to worst stuff than me..like slipknot, marilyn manson, Slayer. What if they expect me to play like John Myung or Billy Sheehan? Wahlau...So hard to become a teacher....better not become one next time.

Damn it really feels bad when u get a quiz question wrong when u should really get it correct!!!! Worst of all, its not a damn hard question. Its a pretty easy one. I wonder why i didnt get it when i had like 5 minutes to think about it but when i handed in the paper and thought about the question for 30 seconds i got it. And yesterday i was studying for my communication lecture and i didnt really understand one slide. So i kept on thinking about it for 2 hours before i gave up and went to bed. Today at the lecture, the lecturer just made one very simple statement and i finally understood it. And what he said wasnt really new. So 2 hours wasted last night when i could be thinking about something else. Come to think about it, i could be doing some study now instead of writing useless blogs like this....hmmm.....haih....nvrmind i dont think i can absorb much anyway coz tuesdays really suck...2, 2 hour engineering lectures and 1 engineering tut/lab. Better sleep early and get up early and study b4 class starts.

Playing in church doesnt excite me anymore. The excitement i get everytime i see my name on the roster has gone. Why has my passion for playing in church died? Well...for one, i think its because everytime i play, i always play the same thing...using the same scales, same licks, etc etc. My bassing havent improved significantly over the past half year. Another reason is because church songs are relatively easy to play and do not offer much challenge musically. And the most significant reason is...i think this half year i have been listening to too much metal. I really should take out my jazz Cd's and listen to them more now and draw inspiration from them. Well...just a note...musicians should not limit themselves to one genre only. Cliff Burton( Metallica's Bassist a long time ago...and also regarded as one of Metallica's best) was classically trained and listens to alot of classical music.

For the first 18 years of my life...Puchong is the place that i call home. For the first 13 years, noone really knew where Puchong is, because noone really had any reason to know where it is because Puchong was a plantation area. In recent years, Puchong had been developed into a high-class industrial and residential area. People started to come into Puchong and now Puchong is know as a rich mans area. After i left Malaysia, Puchong became very very famous. In this 2 years abroad Puchong appeared so many times in the newspaper. Unfortunately for the wrong reasons. Today some engineer commited suicide in Puchong and he came out in newspaper. A few weeks ago the police raided some hse in Puchong and found that there was an illegal drug producing factory in the hse......hmmmmm.....Puchong my home!!!!!

When i first saw her last year i straight away fell in love with her. I am not an avid believer of the concept of "love at first sight", but after meeting her i am. When i touched her, something magical happened. I could feel a connection happening, a connection i never felt before in my whole life. Her curves, her action and her voice further deepen my desire to call her my own. She offered me salvation....salvation from the limitation of conservative thoughts and methods. I finally understood why Jaco was willing to mutilate his wife to obtain this salvation.
The next week i went over hoping to meet her. Unfortunately she wasnt there anymore. I was so very devastated, but deep in my heart i knew one day she will be gone because looking at my current position, i knew it wasnt the right time to get her. All i could do was to look and admire her from afar. And now i cant even do that as she was gone.....
But today i met her again. Suddenly a void appeared in my heart. I felt so empty. I knew there was only one way to fill the void. I touched her. Ahhhhhhh.....I could feel the connection once again...the salvation.... the freedom. This time, the urge to make her my own is even stronger than before. I am determined. She will be mine. I will... get her....no matter what it takes....no matter how much money i will have to spend...no matter how much time it will take.....I WILL....get this Japanese......

Y must the stupid compaq maintainance center be so freakin far. Had to travel all the way to prospect in the west of sydney to get it done. Had to travel like 1 hour ++ just to get there, one way. Thank God everything is back to normal. They replaced my cdrom. And i managed to survive 2 days without the comp.....thats good. :-)
