hmm????

Was listening to limp bizkit's "Take a look around" and one part of its lyrics says....."Cause life is a lesson, you learn it when you're through"... I wonder how true is that???
And another interesting caption from the Gibson website...."Lyrics. Wasted time between solos"...That is so true.

Paul Reed Smith

PRS Custom24..... one of the guitars the third day guy was using .....what a beauty....*drooling*

coles

Ok....i got through the group interview for the coles myer casual job application.....now hope i get a job....

Third day

Honestly, i do not really listen to Third day, but since they are here might as well go and watch and see what so good about this Grammy award winning christian rock band. There were 2 other bands playing besides Third day, which was Days of fire from the US and Rookie from Queesland.

Days of Fire:
This band was good. Heavy stuff...very Alter BRidge, but without Mark Tremonti's guitar playing. The guitarist changes his guitar from a Gibson Les Paul to a Ibanez Rg... Cool stuff. Didnt have any guitar solos/shreds. One bad thing about this band is the bass player. He is such a poser. His playing is very simple. I really hate it when he does those Rock poses like....lifting his bass, and worst, at the end of the show he grinded his bass on stage and purposely droped his bass on the floor...DONT WANT,GIVE ME LAR!!!!! The singer was good...sings like Scott Stapp of Creed but deeper and rougher...Overall they were good..

Rookie:
This band from Queesland . Didnt really like them. They were more punk rock...like Blink 182. The guitarist was using a MusicMan guitar....dont know what series but i recognise the head. The bassist using MusicMan Stingray4. The vocalist voice....didnt really like it...too treblely....too punk....they sound like those bands who plays in teen flicks ...

Third Day:
The best band among the three that played. I didnt really recognise most of thier songs, but they were good in terms of musicianship. They had two guitarists and they were good. They did a few poses but they had skill so it was alright to pose. The guitarist changed guitars many many times. NEarly every song they had to change guitar. The lead guitarist uses 2 guitars. Both of them are Gibson Les Pauls just different colors. Pure white and Honey burst. The other guitarist uses 2 PRS....one is a custom 24, the other dont really know(but definitely a PRS...from the head)...this is very sad....HE plugs the PRS to a acoustic emulater to get the acoustic guitar sound...How sad can that be....using a 5000AUD electric guitar to get an acoustic sound...u have so much money to buy 2 PRS....y not go and buy a Taylor or a Martin acoustic guitar....cei(after searching the PRS website...i discovered that he actually endorses PRS). They did a number of shreds.....cool stuff. The bassist wasnt outstanding...very simple bass lines. He was using a Stingray 4 too..

All of them were using Marshall stacks....powerful stuff. And they used alot of smoke machines....at the end the whole auditorium was full of smoke.

Hills area is a very nice area to live in ...sort of reminds me of canberra. BUt damn Expensive. Anyway...got home around 1 am...yeah.....

Worship Prac...

i wonder what went wrong with my bass.....didnt sound as good as i expected it to....no matter how much i tried and tried to equalise it, it just didnt work.......hmmm....my bass sounded alright at home....maybe its the irregular voltage from the church power point.....maybe the amps rectifier circuit its abit faulty....or most probably i was just too tired and sleepy during prac that my brain didnt have enough processing power to equalise the amp properly.
I started to read a book called "Holiness" by J.C. Ryle. i just finished 3 chapters. Its pretty heavy reading....that is for me, since i dont really read much. But its a good book...makes u think...and also a very striking book. Some parts of the book when read, feels like a sword cutting through the heart....HARDCORE stuff...hmmmm

Coles interview

Went for coles interview today. Nearly got there late. Thank God the lady was nice and waited 5 minutes more. I was in the interview with 5 other ppl. 4 of them were high school grads and 1 of them was a uni student in his final year. So it was good....didnt really feel treatened and i did say some stuff....hopefully they think it was good. Went to golden fang today too. It has been a while since i was there. The lady boss said i slimmed down 5 kg....hahah....so funny...not that i took it seriously...but it did make me happy....:-)....so i told her its because she didnt open for so long, so i had nothing to eat, and i guess she was happy too. So i wonder isit a sin to use such lies to make ppl happy???/

Church

Ok..i woke up late...very late...10.10...got to barneys around 10.50, just in time for the last hymn and some announcements. Anyway, met Dinesh and his wife. He doesnt look at all like what i imagined him to be. He is tall, dark and handsome. His wife is short and pretty. His kid is....like a 5 week old baby. It was good getting to know him and looking forward to getting to know him better and working together with him.
After that watched Eric clapton DVD....so cool. He might be old, but he still hasnt lost his touch. Nathan East( bassist) too. Nathan East was the first bassist i started listening to. That was so long ago....nearly 5 years....time pass so fast....last time i used to surf the net for basses and guitars, tabs and other guitar stuff for hours. What a life i use to have....so exciting.
